Investors represent a particularly lucrative target for fraudsters.
Stolen credit cards will generally allow access to hundreds or a few thousand pounds, but new techniques and processes for monitoring and preventing potential frauds such as 'chip and pin' seem to be successful in mitigating financial impact. On the other hand, shareholder fraud is typically much greater in value and is mostly discovered further down the track.
