After the data cleaning process we will then ensure that the data is as accurate and up to date as possible. The data is sent to external agencies for matching and addition of other useful data such as forename appending/correction e.g. an initial can be appended - J Miller to John Miller.
Additionally, CHTS will attempt to match each address against Royal Mail's Postcode Address File. The Postcode Address File contains over 27m addresses and is the most up to date and complete address database in the UK. It is used to assess the quality of the addresses within your data and update address elements that may be missing or incorrect. The file can also be used to update historical or out of date address information within your data.
Ensuring that address information is accurate and complete will not only reduce wasted mail costs but will also greatly improve the success rate of subsequent tracing or mortality programmes.
